Who we are
BodyLedger (bodyledger.owlect.app), Owlect and BardRoll are run by the same person and share one account system and one database. Write to support@owlect.app about anything in this policy.
Using BodyLedger without an account
In the on-this-device mode everything you enter is kept in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us unless you choose to move it to an account. Clearing your browser data, or "Forget this device" in Settings, deletes it.
Using BodyLedger with an account
Your account is your Owlect account. We store your name, email address and picture from the sign-in provider you choose, your language and theme, and what you add in BodyLedger: people (name, colour, sex, birth date if given, units), measurements with their dates and notes, and goals.
Why we keep it
Only to show it back to you and let you export it. We do not sell it, show ads, or share it with anyone except the services that run the app: Vercel for hosting and Neon for the database.
Measurements are personal
Body measurements are data about health. Enter only what you are comfortable keeping here. If you record measurements for someone else, such as a child, make sure you have the right to do so.
Cookies and analytics
A sign-in cookie shared across owlect.app keeps you signed in, and the on-this-device mode sets a cookie that only remembers which mode you use. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights measure page visits and loading speed without cookies; neither runs in the on-this-device mode.
Export and deletion
Export everything at any time from Settings, as CSV or JSON. To delete your account and its data, email support@owlect.app. The account is shared, so this also removes your Owlect and BardRoll data unless you ask for the BodyLedger data only.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, say so in the app.
